Join the Deschutes Land Trust, Amanda Egertson, and Jason Grant for a restoration tour at Rimrock Ranch. The Land Trust embarked on some new forest restoration efforts at Rimrock Ranch this year. Tour recently thinned areas while you learn more about how forest restoration helps improve forest health and mitigate fire risks. Then, check out stream restoration efforts underway along Whychus Creek at Rimrock Ranch. Learn more about efforts to improve habitat in and around the creek for fish and wildlife. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.

  • Outing Details + Route

    Hike Rating: This is a moderate 1-2 mile hike on old roads and through grassy meadows.

    Route: This hike will start in the meadow at Rimrock Ranch and follow dirt access roads. We will also venture off-trail into the meadow. Terrain will be uneven at times.

    Elevation gain/loss: There is very little elevation gain/loss on this hike.

  • What to Bring

    Snacks/lunch, water, closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather.

  • About the Property

    Rimrock Ranch is a privately-owned 1,120 acre ranch near Sisters. The Deschutes Land Trust worked with its owners to protect its outstanding fish and wildlife habitat
