The next time you’re hiking on your own at a Deschutes Land Trust Preserve, you might meet a volunteer hiking the trails and welcoming visitors. Who exactly are these volunteers? They are our Trail Ambassadors!
The Land Trust’s Trail Ambassador program has expanded in its second year and we’re excited to have you meet them! Trail Ambassadors have a fun task—they hike trails on Land Trust Preserves, promoting the safe, responsible, and enjoyable use of trails. If you see them while out on a Land Trust Preserve, make sure to say ‘hi’! And if you’re not sure which trail you’re on or you’re supposed to be on, definitely talk to a Trail Ambassador!
How will you recognize a Trail Ambassador? They will be wearing a Land Trust nametag and a Land Trust vest or hat. They will also introduce themselves as a Trail Ambassador. Our Trail Ambassador team consists of Ginny Elliott, Dick Malone, Kathy Malone, Steve Ponder, Charlie Vial, and Desi Vial. The Trail Ambassadors look forward to seeing you out on the trail!
